Security Document World to host mobile ID webinar


Security Document World has announced a webinar focusing on critical aspects of mobile identity in government applications, with a high-profile panel to debate vital issues surrounding the trend, particularly mobile driving licences.

Entitled, “The future of government-issued mobile identities”, the webinar on 3 November, at 2.30 GMT, will explore how government institutions are now exploring the mobile paradigm as a way to complement existing, traditional credentials.

The webinar’s expert panel includes Neil Akass, digital driving licence service designer at the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA), and Arjan Geluk, principal advisor for UL Transaction Security ISO and taskforce leader for mobile driving license, from the Netherlands.

Hosting the panel will be Mark Lockie, publishing director of, and Steve Warne, director of solutions marketing at Government ID Solutions, HID Global.

“Today's citizens expect to be able to use mobile solutions for a variety of highly secure ID applications, such as mobile boarding passes and biometric payments on smart phones”, notes the webinar host, Security Document World. “But will it be that simple for 'gold standard' government-issued identity documents to make this leap to mobile?”

The experts will discuss critical aspects of mobile ID including:
