Congressman Michael T McCaul to be keynote at connect:ID

Congressman Michael T McCaul has been confirmed as a keynote speaker at the upcoming identity technology conference connect:ID 2017 in Washington DC.

Congressman McCaul, who is currently in his seventh term in the U.S. House of Representatives and has served as Chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee since January 2013, will address "Vetting, Screening and Border Security: The Role of Biometrics" on Tuesday, May 2 at 8:55 am.

Produced by The International Biometrics + Identity Association and Science Media Partners (SMP), connect:ID 2017 is the preeminent conference and expo for industry, government, and consumers to both see the latest innovations and to discuss the policy and technology issues that shape the concepts of identity.

According to Tovah LaDier, IBIA Managing Director, "Congressman McCaul's address on the operational challenges of securing and protecting the nations' borders and citizens and the importance of inter-agency coordination and co-mingling of infrastructure, technology, and personnel will be of great interest to security and technology leaders in the 'connect:ID' audience."

Prior to Congress, Congressman McCaul served as Chief of Counter-Terrorism and National Security in the U.S. Attorney's office, Western District of Texas, and led the Joint Terrorism Task Force. He served as Texas Deputy Attorney General under current U.S. Senator John Cornyn, and served as a federal prosecutor in the Department of Justice's Public Integrity Section in Washington, D.C.
