NIMC deploys SMS service

11/07/17

Nigeria’s National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has deployed a Short Message Service (SMS) that allows members of the public to ascertain and verify the authenticity of their National Identification Number (NIN) and access other services.

The services provided by the SMS platform include a Personal NIN Lookup, which allows a citizen to check their NIN; a Card Status Check, which check the print and delivery status of an individual’s National e-ID Card; a Change Telephone Number, which allows a user to update the phone number associated with their profile and Help, which allows an individual to seek help on available services.
