IDEMIA launches EMV migration centre in Pakistan

08/11/17

IDEMIA has announced it is supporting financial institutions in Pakistan with their EMV migration by launching the country’s first EMV-certified payments cards personalisation centre.

Oberthur Technologies, renamed IDEMIA following its merger with Safran Identity & Security (Morpho), has been operating a personalisation centre in Karachi for several years. IDEMIA says it has recently certified its PCI-CP compliant personalisation centre by Visa & Mastercard in order to support banks with EMV migration.

IDEMIA operates 40 personalisation centres all over the world.

“IDEMIA is increasing its investment to support the Pakistani market, and in this particular case the banking and payment industry,” says Eric Duforest, executive vice-president for Financial Institutions activities at IDEMIA. “We are very optimistic regarding Pakistan’s economic prospects and will continue to be a key player in providing digital security solutions in this market.”
