Veridos ahead in Bangladesh ePassport contract: Report

Germany-based Veridos is set to get the job of introducing ePassports in Bangladesh for the first time, according to local media.

The cabinet committee on economic affairs yesterday approved a home ministry proposal for awarding the job, reported The Daily Star.

A cabinet division official said the German company would provide technical and technological cooperation.

A memorandum of understanding was signed on an Passport implementation project, an upgrade from the current machine readable passports, during Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to Germany last year.
