Personal identity theft is becoming easier and more lucrative for criminals and harder for the authorities to detect. Meanwhile, says LogicaCMG, society faces threats to its security from multiple terrorist groups rather than the single enemy of the Cold War years. Partially in response to these threats, international bodies are setting standards that introduce high-tech methods of identity management.
