Spotting forgeries with advanced readers

Advanced desktop readers can automatically perform security paper, security ink and RFID authentication checks. More advanced readers can autocheck the printing quality based on ICAO 9303, security patterns under normal, infra and ultraviolet light, and the consistency between the printed and the electronic data. This means an overall analysis of the document, but the question still remains: do all these methods effectively help forgery detection?
