Tim Cobbold takes the helm at De La Rue

De La Rue has appointed Tim Cobbold as chief executive and executive director of the company with effect from 1 January 2011.

Cobbold has more than 20 years of international management experience in manufacturing industries. He joins De La Rue from Chloride Group, where he was chief operating officer from 2007 and CEO from 2008. Prior to this, he held a number of senior roles with Smiths Group. Cobbold is a chartered accountant and is a non-executive director of Drax Group.

The company has confirmed that Nicholas Brookes will resume his position as non-executive chairman and Colin Child will revert to his Group Finance director role once Tim Cobbold joins the company.
